FEEEED MEEEEE!

So, if you aren't able to tell from the videos below, this girl LOVES cereal. She cracks us up. We put her in her bumbo, and she starts banging her hand on the trey. SO cute!!

The other night, she must have been really hungry, she was going at it like a shark after bait!!

Five Months!!!

At five months you:
~weigh around 17.5 pounds
~LOVE to SING. You have been singing patty cake, twinkle twinkle, but now that it's Christmas time, we started singing Rudolph, Jingle Bells, and Up on the house top. When I start singing and clapping you just start smiling and singing with me!
~love to sit up and play, and are getting really good at sitting unassisted
~have rolled from tummy to back, but would rather just sit up and play
~just went through a MAJOR growth spurt, good thing we started with cereal
~think daddy is SO funny
~have more hair coming in on your pretty little head. You have just a bit more now than what you were born with, and it gets fuzzier every day.
~love to laugh, you really like mommy and daddy to get you laughing repeatedly, it's so sweet
~love to watch wheel of fortune, must be the colors, dings and the sound of the wheel spinning
~love to watch Bernie, you can find him by the sound of him walking thru the room, going in and out his doggie door, or his collar.
~are still cat nappin', you take about 4 - 30 minute naps a day, and sleep at night from 8pm-6 or 7am
~are SO much fun!!!

My tips for keeping trim this holiday season...

1)Portion control, of course=)
2)breastfeed a five month old child who is going thru a MAJOR growth spurt! Sheesh!

So, last Thursday Cate started eating every hour and a half during the day...(from every 2 hours)... I thought, hmmm, probably a growth spurt...then the weekend came and she was still wanting to eat that often, AND she started waking every 2 hours at night... not very fun. Needless to say this mama was getting a "little" tired. I looked up online to see/make sure that it was a growth spurt, sure enough, CLASSIC symptoms! I read that it could last a couple of days to a week. A week?!?!? Well, finally 6 days later, she is sleeping thru the night again and pretty much back to her old schedule, YAY! So good thing we coincidentally started her on cereal the same day this spurt begun. I was going to try to wait until 6 months before starting cereal, but I knew she probably wasn't going to last that long because of how much she has grown the past 5 months. We just decided to go ahead and start with it, let her get the hang of it, then on, around, or after the 1st of the year start her on foods. FUN!=)

And a fun pic for your enjoyment=) Can you tell she is wanting food?!?

Cate meets SANTA!!!

Today we had another first...Cate met Santa!! and boy did she LOVE him! It was the first time for her to actually smile on cue at the camera...thanks to mama's wonderful singing...YAY for Christmas songs=)
And since she did SO good...I of course was suckered and had to get as many prints as I could...good thing they had a "special" going on, buy 3 prints, get one free on a CD to print as many of whatever you like!!=) SO worth it! Enjoy!

Dear Santa, thank you for bringing me my new stroller early! I love it and I love you, Love Cate=)

See, totally worth it to get the 4 prints right?!?!? And yes, I know, next years pic will probably be the COMPLETE opposite=)

Another first for Cate!

Well, I was going to try to wait until 6 months to start with foods.. ya, that didn't last. We have a growing girl on our hands! She was doing just fine during the day and night, but we decided to go ahead and start with rice cereal, see if she liked it, let her get the hang of it, (which didn't take any time, as you will see) and go from there.

Mama and Daddy, I'm ready!!!

 MMMMM...

This stuff is YUMMY!

She loved it! It took her no time to get the hang of it! Yum Yum in the tum tum!

A few updates...and some randomness

Just a few updates on things going on around here...
Cate's car seat came in and I LOVE IT! Cate LOVES it too! It's even prettier in person, great quality, and I still can't believe I got the discount I did on it!! Highly recommend Britax, and HIGHLY recommend buying from albee baby=)

See I told you she loves it=) I will probably wait just a little longer though to start using it in the car since her naps and such are still unpredictable, and she still really likes to play with her toys on the other one.. until then, my back will continue to kill me carrying the infant car seat=)

Now I am debating on getting a phil and teds stroller...any thoughts?

Cate is now back in her night sleeping routine, which is about 8pm until 6 or 7am, Thank goodness! (She must be like her mama and SUPER sensitive to meds/supplements...) Needless to say, we will NOT be giving her polyvisol...EVER!

We are ready for Christmas here at our Casa! Cate and I decorated the inside of the house last week. I didn't put up everything that I have in years past. It was one of those..."I'm over its!" I put up what I wanted...and the rest...well...

I'm finding more presents for myself than I am for others while Christmas shopping... always happens...=)

Only 3 more pounds till pre prego weight!!! THANK YOU breastfeeding!...(and probably to the fact I'm toting around a 17 lb child=)

Oh ya! I have the best husband EVER!!! This past Friday was his birthday, and he surprised ME with a gift...! We can't hardly ever surprise each other...if we find something we like.. we just get it...or it's a big purchase that has to be discussed... well, this time he totally got me! I was really surprised and wasn't expecting it at all! Such a sweetie!!!

I can not believe Cate will be 5 months next week!! She has LOTS of new things for her 5 month post=) Stay tuned!

I HAD to get it..

So, if you subscribe to groupon, you know that there was a deal last week for Nordstrom rack, $50 for $25. Of course, I find something EVERY time I go there.. and usually whatever I find is on sale and a "Becky Bargain," so I HAD to get it! Now that I think about it, I should have bought 2!

Here was the conversation the hubby had with me (he didn't know I bought it):

Hubs: I got that email you sent me to print some coupon?!?!
Me: Oh ya? Did you print it?
Hubs: No, it's asking for your password, so I need that
Me: Oh really, to print it? well its one of my usuals, I will have to see
Hubs: Did you REALLY spend $25 to get $50?!?!
Me: Well YA!  (I very excitedly say) I HAD to get it, it was a great deal and my first groupon purchase!!! AND I always find something there=) (with a smile)
Hubs: oh ya? well what are you going to buy?
Me: I don't know, maybe something for you!=) (with a smile=)
Hubs: heh=)

Becky's Bargains!

Just wanted to share some of the recent bargains I've come across lately...
One of the items on Cate's Christmas list is her big girl car seat. After much deliberation, Matt and I decided the best one for us and her is the Next Gen Britax Boulevard. Most places it retails for $309.00, but I found this one at albee baby for reg. price $309.00, and the website was running a special for 22% off, AND they have free shipping on orders over $100. So this car seat ended up being $240.00! Bargain!!!

Just FYI, I also noticed that you can get pretty much get anything 15% off at albee baby, and there is NO tax!! BARGAIN!
Another bargain recently, this jump-a-roo

Fisher-Price - Rainforest Jumperoo

This one retails for $95 at babies r us, and $65 at wal-mart, therefore babies r us is a rip! But I found a gently used one at Once upon a child, just right down the road from our casa, for $35!!! Bargain! I also recently found a different jump-a-roo at OUAC to leave at my moms house, so this one will stay at her Jojo's house, then when Cate is tired of her exersaucer, we can just switch-a-roo=)

I'm over it

There are lots of things now, I've realized since having a baby, to which I just say, "I'm over it!" Many of these things (which include switching out seasonal decor and such in the house, and others that could make for whole other post!) make Matt VERY happy because it means less/no work for him because he is not needed for the project!=) Well I said it again this weekend, but Matt was required to help with this. I/we, YES we, (he was thinking the same thing,) put our Christmas tree up. Chill out people!!!  We didn't decorate it, it's just sitting naked in the corner of the living room. Cate and I will do that part on our own during the days when Daddy's at work. Having a baby makes you realize that you should and want to get things done when you can. Also, with upcoming events, having a very busy husband, and not being able to move furniture, haul the tree box, etc, etc, on my own.. we had the same BRILLIANT idea to get that part of it done this weekend. Great minds think alike=) (we also had the same idea to finally get the pack and play out of our room!) I NEVER thought I would do this before Thanksgiving...EVER...but I'm OVER it!=) and besides, I kinda like the green in the corner!!!
Don't worry, I will wait till after turkey day to get my blog jazzed up for Christmas!!=)

Is this normal?!?...

Well, to me it is, I don't really know otherwise.  It just seems a little crazy to me because I have not by any means been trying to store/save this much. I have had a plentiful amount of milk from the beginning...enough to grow my baby girl to a whopping 16lbs 11oz. thus far, and save what you see below...Yes, I know it's definitely not a bad thing, just not sure if it will get used since I stay at home with Cate (I know I can use it when I start making her foods, etc...), but it's there if need be, and that's comforting! Any guesses on how many bags???

At last count it was 82...(I only counted because I had to buy a new tub to store the bags in...=)

Pedi Visit

We had our 4 month pedi visit yesterday afternoon. All was well and Miss Cate did fabulous!
Here were her stats:
Weight: 16lbs 11oz - 95%tile
Height: 25 1/4 - 90%tile
Head Circ: 41.4 - 55%tile

Impressive stats, yet again! Dr. T. gave me another "good job Mom," and said that my milk is like a milkshake treat for Cate! GOOOOD stuff! She also said that Cate is doing just fine with breastfeeding and we can just keep up what we have been doing until her 6 month appointment! YAY! I really wasn't wanting to start with the cereals, etc. So we were happy with that! Dr. T said that if Cate starts to show signs around 5 months or so that she may not be getting enough, acting hungry all the time, not sleeping like she has been, then we may need to start, but for now, no need to!
As Dr. T was checking her, Cate was just as curious as could be about everything, wanted to grab on to everything, as she usually does. Guess you could call her Curious Cate=)

Daddy and Cate thinking: "here mom goes again with the camera..."

Daddy, why are you holding me down?!?
Nurse Vanessa...why are you doing that?!?!

Geeze guys..

Let me help you Vanessa!!

LOVE this chunk of cuteness

Now what are we waiting on??

Hello Dr. T! Whatcha got there?

Is that a light toy??

Really mama?

Daddy's girl

All done! now just waiting on the shots...

Next time, I will take the good camera... I mean, that's what we got it for right?? Our phones are obviously just so much easier to head out the door with..but I don't want any more fuzzy pics!!! And in case you haven't noticed, little miss likes to try to look at EVERYTHING but the camera!! She is just so curious and just has to take in any new surrounding, hopefully that will change soon!=)

Four Months!

Happy four months my sweet girl!!!
At four months you:
~now weigh 16lbs, 11oz...no WONDER my back is killing me!
~are a NOISE maker. You LOVE to make ANY kind of noise at any time. These noises include, talking, laughing, singing, squealing...very loud, screaming...very loud, and this other noise I call spitting, but it's more like you put your lips together and buzz, and you add this spitting, so like a buzzing spitting?!?! I didn't know a four month could do all of those noises...but you have proved so!
~started really playing with all of your toys on your carseat, activity mat, exersaucer, etc. talking to them, and laughing at them
~love playing patty cake, and singing twinkle twinkle little star.
~still love bath time
~are a very happy baby in general, but a VERY happy morning girl! When you wake up in the morning, you just smile, and smile and smile! SO precious!
~grab onto everything, and then it's STRAIGHT to the mouth
~have discovered your feet, and can almost put them into your mouth!
~are in size 3 diapers now, and 6-9 month clothes
~love anything that plays music and lights up
~are a daddy's girl. When you see him you just give him the biggest smiles!
~are starting to transition to the 2-2 hour naps or so a day, NICE! You still take some cat naps, but at least one 2 hour nap a day!
~are still sleeping about 10 hours at night from about 8ish-6ish, VERY NICE!
~had an excellent report from your 4 month check-up, and are a VERY healthy girl!!
~are just an absolute joy to mommy and daddy! We love you SO much!
