Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
We have a roller on our hands...
this was from the end of December, tummy to back
She finaly decided it was time to roll from back to tummy, with a little bribe=)
This was last night
Now...she's a pro! This was taken today!
30 minutes of silence...and contentness...
occurs when this is on...
It started a couple of months ago. Matt and I watch "the wheel" as we call it, almost every night, and a few months ago, we noticed that when it came on, Cate would stop whatever she was doing and just stare and watch, sit still, in total amazement! We thought, "oh, she likes it!" Well, this girl doesn't like it, she LOVES it! We guess it's the different sounds of the wheel spinning, the letters beeping, and the bright colors!
So now, it's kinda part of our evening routine. Cate usually eats dinner around 6, then has her bottle, and we sit and watch the wheel and relax before we put her to bed. It's funny, the show is actually pretty educational if you really think about it, colors, numbers, letters, shapes...oh my! Who would have thought!?!?
Here are a few pics of her and daddy chillin' out and watchin' the wheel=)
and this was one night when daddy was at class...check out her hair!! It's growing...YAY!
Apparently, watching the wheel may just be in her blood. Matt and I watched it before she was born, her JoJo and Grandpa Royce watch it too, and my great uncle is a huge fan! I signed up a while back to be a contestant...maybe one day Mama will make it on the show and my baby girl can cheer me on!

This girl's holdin' her own...
Bottle! If she isn't too tired in the evenings after she eats dinner, she will hold her own bottle! Nice!
AND... her own sippy cup! She is doing great trying to drink water out of the sippy. Sometimes she actually drinks the water, other times she will spit it out. The pedi said to also put some of my milk in the sippy so she can learn that milk also comes from a cup...yaaaa she wasn't really having that one...she wants the real thing...=)

Wherreeee's Cate?!?/Peek-a-BOO!
We're pretty sure she get's the concept...she's been doing this for the past few days!!=)
Cate's first ride in a shopping cart!
Yesterday was a BIG day, her six month appointment, and we ventured out to Target and Cate had her first ride in a shoppin' cart! She LOVED it!! SUCH a big girl!!
I've been waiting so patiently for her to be ready to sit in a cart, but then again, I wish she was still small enough to ride in her infant carrier, wait a minute... NO I don't, and my back is thanking me!!!=) It's sad that she is getting so big so fast, so I am definitely enjoying every moment, and every "first" if you can't tell...=)
Anyways...Notice, the little snap string... my friend Amanda told me about these. They are just basically nylon strings with snaps that you snap to a toy, then snap the other end to the high chair, car seat, or cart, whatever, so the toys don't fall on the floor... GENIUS (and whats's funny was like two days before she told me about these, I was thinking, "man, I just need to tie a string to the toys and to whatever she is in so the toys don't fall on the dirty floor!" someone was just one step ahead of me, darn it!) Cate is sometimes more interested in chewing on the straps than chewing or playing with her toys... so yay, a double toy! AND the best part, my shopping cart cover, that doubles as a high chair cover has little loops for straps! GENIUS again! I see LOTS of fun shopping trips in our future!!

Six month pedi/well check update
Today we had Cate's six month "well check" appointment (in case the word "pedi" throws you off=)
Here are her stats:
Weight: 19lbs - 94%
Height: 26 3/4 - 85%
Head: 43cm - 60%
It went great and Cate is such a trooper!
This was before we left, happy happy girl!!
I'm too cute to get shots...but I guess I will let it happen!
Measure time!
Mama.. you are silly...taking all these pictures...but I will smile at you anyways!
Trying to eat the paper...
Daddy is trying to teach her anatomy already...
BIG hugs! (it really seems like she is hugging lately, at least Matt and I like to think so...=)
This time Cate got to impress Dr. T with her sitting up skills, and got to sit on daddy's lap for the checkup!
No teethers yet...
Really mama?
She did better this time with the oral vaccine, maybe she thought it was some new food or something?!?!
And the battle wounds...she had 3 this time because she got the flu vaccine=(
We still can't get over how great this girl does at her well checks! She cried a little when and right after getting the shots.. but daddy always seems to calm her down and she is good to go! Very blessed with that!Dt. T. said that she looks great! She's a healthy growing girl and to keep up everything we have been doing! The only homework she gave us was to "be sure to read her lots of books!" So we shall! We do read to Cate every night, and sometimes during the day, but she is WAY more interested in turning the pages and closing the books=) At least she's interested, right?
We go back in one month so she can get her second flu shot, and then again at nine months!

What we've been up to...
One of Cate's boyfriends, (she only has 4, possibly 5 depending on what baby funk is=) Wyatt along with his mommy and daddy Jonah and Catherine, came over the other night for dinner, and Wyatt and Cate actually had a REAL play date!!! Since Cate can sit and play on the floor, and Wyatt is mobile, aka crawling and walking... they could actually sit and play with toys, interact...it was SO fun to watch them together...
Thank you miss Catherine for catching my fall=)
Cate! I got the keys, Let's GO!
Oh Wyatt, I'm so glad you came over to play!
Match made in heaven!=)
This was one of the morning pics I took recently, she was so ready and super excited to go visit (_______! Insert your name here=)
Morning workout! That's my girl!
Afternoon singing time! She still loves to sing patty cake, and yes, we are still singing Rudolph, because she loves it so much!
Just hanging out! She loves to sit on the couch with us, play with toys and just chill!
Uh oh! Mama caught me calling all my boyfriends!
Eating green beans...btw, pureed green beans smell disgusting... but apparently taste pretty good!
Sweet smile!
Bernie helping her learn to crawl!!
She started pushing herself up SO high!
What mom? Your people magazine is WAY more interesting than ANY of my other toys!!!
It tastes better too!!
Hmmm... whose this new Benjamin guy...another boyfriend?!?
Last, but not least.. morning tickles=morning smiles!!!
My baby is SIX MONTHS old today!!! We go for her 6 month appointment on Tuesday, can't wait to see what her stats are! Stay tuned for the update=)
