33 weeks

Another week down, t-7ish to go. I will say it again, but it's so crazy that we are now down to the bi-weekly dr. appts, and finished our childbirth prep class, making this all the more real that we are about to bring a child into this world. We had our 32 week checkup last Thursday, all went well, and we even got to take a peek at her! Which was fun, but what was not so fun was/is the fact that she is sideways breech right now. The Dr. assured us that there is plenty of time for her to turn, and that only 4% of babies end up staying breech, and that the next two weeks is about the time that they start moving into head down position if baby isn't already. He said that if she isn't turned by 36 weeks, then we will "discuss options." So hopefully she will shake her groove thing and get into position by then. Please say a little prayer for us that she does=) If not, there are options, and we are just happy that we have had a smooth sailing pregnancy thus far and she is healthy!
We finished up our childbirth class Saturday! It was definitely worth it and we were really glad we went. We were sent home with 3 bags of free stuff, and feel like we are both just ready for Cate to make her arrival! There were no "videos" to sit thru and watch, thank goodness, so we left the class peacefully and excited and ready vs. scared ****less and not ever wanting her to leave my uterus=) A lot of the class was what you can read for yourself in many of the books like What to Expect When You're Expecting, etc. But it helped to hear it again from a nurse and be able to ask questions if you wanted, and she would also tell you what to be prepared for as far as having your baby in this particular hospital, the way they do things there, etc. The hospital tour was great! It is really "pretty", not like most hospital hallways and wings you normally see in person and on TV. The L&D rooms are HUGE!!! VERY comfortable and cozy, and the L&D wing was super quiet when we were in there, totally what you would not expect! There were actually 4 new babies we got to see in the nursery, and when I saw that, that was probably the point where it was VERY real to me that that would be MY baby very soon! I feel like there are a lot of things I need to get done, but have enough time to do them, just need to get going=)
I had my second baby shower here in Austin this past Sunday! It was wonderful! Pics to come=)

For now here I am at 33 weeks, with apparently my 4lb child:

All in all, I am feeling well, some days are great, some days I am tired. I have begun to have some slight swelling in my feet, and hands/fingers, not any that is noticeable to you perhaps, but just some that makes my hands and feet achy. Not fun, but once again, it could be way worse! So, nothing really to complain about, just something to talk about=)

According to Matt...

This was "blogworthy," so I thought I would share this update on the bernster...
FIrst of all, he has been doing great with the whole sleeping in his own bed transition, WAY better than we would have ever thought. We bought him a new bed to keep in our bedroom, and he LOVES it! We even had it in the living room the other night while we were watching season 5 of 24, (Thanks to a friend, we are hooked, watched his first 4 seasons he lent to us, and then bought season 5 for ourselves this weekend) and he went from his old bed with a blankie over him to his new bed with no blankie. He just wanted to be in it! SCORE! Still can not believe that he has done so good with it! So then, I guess actually it was the same night, the night before last, I was laying in bed, not yet asleep, and heard him get up and shake, thought great, here he comes, but nope, he helped himself to a drink of water and crawled back in HIS bed!!! That is just CRAZY. We just never thought that he would be so easy in his old age. Sometimes we think he knows he is just really more comfortable that way, and would rather stay in there.. like his car seat, and now this bed! Unbelievable!!! I think/hope this means he is ready to be a big brother=)
In other news, I cannot believe I am almost 33 weeks!! That is C.R.A.Z.Y! We had part of our childbirth prep/newborn care class last night, and the other part of it is Saturday. Needless to say, it was informative, and made it all the more real that we will have a child in t-7 weeks! I think we were the youngest couple in there, which was interesting. I don't think we are really that young, especially since I have a birthday approaching very soon, and I have friends that already have 2 kids, but whatever, we just got all our ducks in a row early=) There were many big bellies in there. Honestly I think mine was the smallest one, which I feel is big, but compared to the others who said they were due in July and August, they seemed to be quite ahead of me, which makes ya feel good eh? And of course, there is always the person who asks all the questions... seriously, they should have open Q&A at the end to explain why the infant's first vaccination is Hep B... geeze! Looking forward to Saturday though, where we get to tour the hospital as well=) Stay tuned for an 8 month pink tank shot! It will be interesting to see how small it's getting=)

Carrie Concert

This past Wednesday, my mom, sister, friend Lori and Sis Leann, went to the Carrie Underwood concert! It was an awesome show!!! We really enjoyed it and she really had an entertaining show!
Sis, me, Cate, Lori and Leann, Btw, this was Cate's 3rd concert!!!

Mom, Sis and I

Craig Morgan, put on a good show too!

Here she comes!

Didn't know she played instruments, but she busted out a couple of guitars...

And swung on a swing,

And rode thru the air on the back of a truck...

And played the piano! She is just TOO gorgeous and even MORE talented than I thought she was! LOVE her!

Thanks ladies for such a fun evening!!!

A few FUN things for Cate!

Cate has received a few fun gifts lately. Pretty burp rags!! I love them!!! They are something I myself have been wanting to make, and my mom even bought me the supplies needed to make them, so hopefully soon I can tackle that fun project!!!
Thanks to my cousin Sam...

And my friend Lori...

Notice the supercute bracelet and hairbow??? Oh my goodness!!!

Thank yall SOOOO much! Now I am even more motivated to start my own little projects!!!

31 weeks, almost a week late

Well I am kinda in between weeks here, but thought I would do a little update anyways. We are almost at the 8 month mark!! Still so crazy. I think I get more ready by the day. Her room is coming along, and I LOVE it!!! I promise pics to come...=)
Some have been asking how I have been feeling... some days are fabulous... great... still are days where I don't even feel like I am pregnant, then there are days that I am tired, cranky and short with my patience...=) There are some days I get good sleep, and other days not so good, I guess those two kind of correlate??? Mood is dependent on sleep?? Cate has started to get the hiccups, and is still very very active from about 7-11PM, Lots of belly dancing during that time=) Sometimes a little too much to where it makes me on the verge of nauseous, but SO fun to watch. My feet have started swelling some during the night.. so I guess I am going to have to attempt to sleep with them elevated.. Thank goodness its only my feet thus far. I can feel it in my fingers too here and there. But all of this is "nothing to really complain about, just something to talk about" as my Popo put it the other morning when I was telling him that there are some issues to complain about, but they could be WAY worse! I have had several people ask me how far along along I am, and when I tell them, they say "you are still so tiny," so that's a nice complement! But I guess they and I have both seen bigger!!! I feel somewhat big, but feel like still don't really look almost 32 weeks.. so we'll see=) Thoughts?
We have had very busy weekends the past few weekends, so looking forward to a free one this weekend!
Here we are at Matt's cousin Steve's wedding

And here we are at 31 weeks

Mother's Day

A little late, but for mother's day my parents decided to come up on Sunday and we went to lunch at the Oasis. It was very enjoyable, and for those of you who haven't been there in a while, they are making a city out there. Literally. They are adding this whole other area to be more restaurants, shops, and outdoor patio fun, to be complete spring 2011. Definitly need to check it out=)

Pure bliss

I had a dream last night that was probably the sweetest dream I have ever had. I dreamt I was holding our sweet little Cate in my arms and looking at her precious face. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!!! I don't remember too much, other than I had to have a c-section, (which hopefully won't have to happen), and then there she was, in my arms, and I can remember Matt kissing her face. She had a full head of hair, (which I don't think will really be true, it was soft and full,) and we were both just looking at her in awe=) Pure bliss!! Do you think that means I am ready for her?!?!?!?!

He did it!!! Update to yesterday's post...

Bernie slept in HIS bed last night, all night!! I. CAN'T. BELIEVE. IT!!!!! I put him in it when we went to bed, he got up once to go outside, and then went right back in till 6am!!! Wow, maybe I shouldn't be so skeptical of this 10 year old what used to be difficult dachshund dog and training him to do new things... He likes his car seat, he sleeps in his bed, maybe this whole life changing experience of him getting a little sister will be way easier than we thought!!!

What's been going on around here..?

ALOT! It's been busy busy around here. I have been working on lots of little projects around the casa, trying to get things ready in Cate's room, cleaning, getting rid of things, etc. some nesting I guess you could say, but some of it is things I wanted to already have done by now, but since I was sick for over a month a while back, and then with so many things going almost every weekend... time is flying!
Matt is back safe and sound from his trip to China. He had a blast, and said he could of stayed a few more weeks if I would have been there! He loved it! He took a few/WAY too many pics. I told him he needs to get a slide show together, so when that's done, I will post it. It's so nice to have him back, but honestly, while he was gone, I was almost too busy to miss him=) Which I guess is a good thing. We talked every day on skype, so that made it easier too! Now he has a three week break from school where he can help with all the things that need to get done. YAY!
In other news, I am feeling great!! We worked out in the yard most of the afternoon yesterday, and it was wonderful! The yard finally looks nice too=) (we have to wait every year to complete the flowerbeds, etc, until all the oak trees we thought were so lovely when we bought the house have completed their spring thing...) The best part was that I totally didn't even feel like I was 7.5 months prego, in my swimsuit, working out in the back yard. I had so much energy! It was great! I really hope that continues. What I hope doesn't continue, (but sure it will) is that I am starting to loose my mind. I have been finding random things that I don't put back in the fridge out on the counter.. and then something I was looking for Saturday, turned out to be in the fridge, where it doesn't belong, after an all out downstairs hunt, including thru the trash=/ Ahhh... I guess it could be worse??? At least I can remember where I park when I go somewhere?
Other than that, we/I have decided it's past time for Bernie to get his own bed. I can't handle it anymore, the 103 degree ball o warmth was great in the winter, but not so much now... So trying to figure out what situation is going to work best for that. How do you train otherwise when he has been doing that for the past 10 years?!?!?!?! He does love his bed in the living room and he did sleep in that last night from 3am on.. so I guess that's a start? Wish us luck, we have less than 10 weeks to get something going... poor, pitiful thing...=)
Other than that, things on my to-do this week:
~find a pedi
~sign up for breastfeeding class
~ finish thank yous from shower
~ enjoy all the free time the hubs has=)

We go back to the dr already this week and get to take a peek at her!! SO excited!!! Update and possible pic to come!
