It won't be long...

Until someone is going...going...gone! This past weekend Cate took her first itty bitty baby steps, pushed herself up off the floor into a standing position, and started walking super fast with her walker...

And go figure...the laundry basket works just as well, if not actually better...

So exciting! Not sure what I'm more excited about, seeing her take her first steps, or saving my back;)

Lunch with the Ross'

This past week Cate and I had lunch with the kids I used to nanny for (and their Mom and Grammy too;). It had been a while since we had seen them, so this visit was long overdue, and man, they have changed SO much! I miss watching them. They always had me laughing, as an 8, 4, and 2 year old would! Now when I do things like make my coffee, make my lunch, etc., I hear their little voices, especially Abbey's...
"Watcha doin Becky?" "Watcha got Becky?" "Can I have some?" Just makes me smile;)

I was going to try to share my fabulous finds once a week, because it seems that I find something new and different on my weekly grocery/shopping trips...ya...well I have a few I just haven't posted...because let's face it, documenting Cate's firsts and such are WAY more important!!!;)
Anyways, Lookie what I found on an end cap display...

I'm normally ALWAYS a French tip mani/pedi girl...especially in the summer, but this pink just stood out to me, it was the only pink in the rainbow of colors on the display, so I figured, what the heck;)

Cate's first swim lesson!

Cate had her first swim lesson class this past Monday! It was so fun and she loved it!!

Mama had fun too, except little did I know that I signed myself up for a workout too! WOW! I thought it would be easy, that Cate would be "weightless" in water, heh, WRONG! Most of the time she is at least half way out of the water... plus, we are in water that is waist or so deep, and most of the other moms can be on their knees with the kids, not this mama;( yet another disadvantage to being 5'2...oh well...the extra workout is nice...I guess...;)

  This was probably her fave part, reaching for and grabbing the ball, and then squishing it and the nasty water in her mouth...

Fun times! We also sang songs in the water, had them "jump" off the side, and the past couple of days the lifeguards have gotten a flat foam raft that the kids get on their tummies and backs and float around on...this girl likes to ride around it being on all fours.. quite funny=) Cate loves the swim rings that the lifeguards give her too, she thanked them for letting her have a wonderful teether. Did I mention I think this girl is getting not her top two, but possibly FOUR of her top teeth?!?!? Thankfully, it hasn't been that bad...yet...

Happy Birthday...to ME!!!

I've had such wonderful birthday celebrations the past couple days! Sunday my parents and sister came up and we went to brunch at Chez zee, and let me tell you, if you haven't been, you MUST go! It was SO delish...unbelievably delish!


And what better way to spend my birthday than with my two loves, (well three with the bernsters;)?!?! We started off the morning making my yummy blueberry pancakes, then went Cate's first swim lessons, (which of course will get it's own post;), followed by picking up CFA for lunch, nap time of course, and a yum yum dinner at Chuys;) Absolutely THE most perfect day if ya ask me!!


Ready for swim lessons;) and yes, she is already a pro!

Twenty-eight is definitely GREAT! This past year has brought me SO many blessings, and I am SO thankful for every one of them! I feel so happy, so blessed, and so excited to what this next year will bring!

Cate's first swim in the pool!

Cate had her first swim over the weekend! We met our friends Jonah, Catherine and their little one Wyatt and cooled off in the pool! Cate of course LOVED being around the people and kids, and splashing in the water. She loved her little floatie mama bought her, especially the little antenae...go figure...

I think I will chew on them for all of the pictures daddy is trying to take...

and chew a little more...

Really, who designs a float with little antanae that a baby is going to want to chew on and probably put a hole in?!?

It's a little windy, but this swimming thing is pretty cool mama! I like it!

Cate really did enjoy herself! She also liked being held and clapping/splashing the water, and standing on the shallow steps and holding onto the edge, looking around and checking out the kids jumping in, she thought she was big stuff! Can't wait for her swim lessons next week! FUN outing for her and mama!!
