Sleeping Beauty

New Faves

Just wanted to share a couple of my new faves!

This one I came across when I was prego. I am one for routines, and in the mornings after I have my coffee, I like to drink a small glass of juice to take my vitamins with. Also, I'm a sucker and believe what is says on the box, that you get 2 servings of fruit in an 8oz glass=) I used to drink Dole pineapple something blend, and well, being pregnant, wanted to try something different. So I saw this new item in the juice isle...

Figured I would give it a whirl... and OMG!!! It is FABULOUS. The first time I drank it, I felt like I was on a tropical island with a rum punch! Brought back some wonderful memories of our trip to Jamaica last year=) It really tastes like a delish cocktail if you know what I mean. True bliss for this girl when I was prego!
They have other flavors, but I found that this flave, tropical rhythms, is the BEST!!

Another great find...these ice cream bars, (and the ice cream they make as well)
For those who don't know, I'm lactose intolerant...so indulging in sweet treats is somewhat hard to come by. I was really wanting some ice cream and found these while going down the ice cream isle to get the normal cookies and cream for the hubby...

They are made with coconut milk and are SO delish!! You wouldn't even be able to tell the difference, and are totally dairy free! Even the chocolate dip is made with soy! Best part: only 170 cals, 3g fiber and 2g of protein! I dare you to try one. I promise you will likey=)

When we got home from lunch, Cate and I had this conversation about our date...

Adventures of Mommyhood #1

So, if you saw my facebook post this week, you would know that I had sort of an "adventure" this past week on an outing with Cate. I decided to document these so called "adventures," only because I know, well actually I am absolutely positive, I will have many more "adventures" and lessons learned so to say, venturing out, and just being a first time mom and all... AND I am sure I'll just laugh at myself like I did at this one, because, what else can you do?? Hope you can get a good laugh out of them as well=)
We headed to target to make a return, and honestly, right now at this very moment, I don't remember what the return was. (you really do loose "a few" brain cells with all that pushing...good thing I only pushed for 40 minutes, can't imagine if I would have pushed for the "average" 2-3 hours most first timers, yes I know some of you hate me, get over it=) Anyways, we get there, I get a cart, and get Cate out of the tahoe and put her in the front part. I push the cart around, and as I am walking to the store, I realize, hmmm I can't see really where I am pushing this thing. No big deal, I can see the store so I just keep walking. It was only once I get into the store, literally almost hit this lady's cart, then when I tried to go around it I literally almost hit her probably 3 or 4 year old son that was wandering around. Geeze! THEN I realize(mommy brain), hmmm Cate is going to have to ride in the back of the cart! So I keep walking, and walking by all the registers to get to the return desk, hoping I wouldn't actually hit anyone. When I get to the returns desk, with all my strength I lift her from the top to the back. (that's a whole nother issue, how heavy the flipping carrier is, especially that fact that she is only adding to the heaviness because she is gaining weight like a champ. Yes, I do have the lightest graco snugride, but it doesn't seem to help, and yes I do have one of those super cute slings, and a Bjorn, and now realize the power of them, and WILL be using them) MAN! Good thing I wasn't going on an all out shopping trip! Why didn't any of my short petite friends warn me about this?!?! Oh well, one of many lessons learned I guess. I just laughed at myself because it didn't dawn on me until AFTER I almost hit someone that I should move her... anything else my petite friends need to warn me about?!?!=)

In other news, well really just Cate news, she is a whopping 11.5 pounds now, which means she gained ANOTHER pound in ONE week! She is about to be in size 2 diapers, the ones barely fasten over her big ole belly=) I am having a hard time putting up her newborn clothes that don't fit her anymore..=( Hopefully she will be able to wear her 3 months ones a little longer?!?!

Until the next adventure...

One month

Cate Elisabeth, How is it you are already one month old?? This past month has gone by sooo fast, and your daddy and I have loved every waking moment of it! Yes, even the occasional screaming ones=)
At one month you:
~are a whopping 10pounds 7oz 80th%, and 21inches 45th%
~are out of newborn diapers, actually we transitioned you to size one between 3-4 weeks.
~LOVE your swing, if the music or noise is going on it and it stops, you throw a little fit, you also like to jam to music, aka Carrie Underwood, with mom in the car, and you like riding in the car
~are sleeping somewhat thru the night, you go to sleep around 11pm, and wake at 3-4 am to feed, then back to sleep till around 7am, we are loving that!
~are starting to make funny cute little noises, aka "talking" to us
~LOVE having your daddy hold you and listen to him talk. The other day I was asking daddy a bunch of questions about golf, and you were just as intrigued as I was!
~are pretty much out of your newborn onesies and into 3 month ones, and quickly filling out your 3 month clothes, You will probably be in them within the next 2 weeks
~still aren't crazy about bath time. You have had 3 real baths so far, and we try to get them done as quickly as possible.
~are starting to give us a sweet smile when mommy and daddy make funny noises and faces at you.
~are looking more and more like mommy as you are filling out. I still see daddy in you to though.
~are all in all a really great baby, we are still asking what did we do to deserve to have such a wonderful pregnancy, labor, delivery, and now a good baby?!?!
~are the absolute best thing that has happened to us! Why in the world did we wait almost 5 years like we "planned" to meet you?!?!

We love you,
Mommy and Daddy
