Friday FUN!

We went to Zilker park today and enjoyed a little family outing! Cate played on the playground...

Although today Cate was a little more interested in watching the bigger kids run around and scream and play...

Then we headed to catch the train...

Hmmm...dada can get me there MUCH faster...

To the train dada!!

Excited to ride the train!

Here we go!

I'm a big girl, I stand!

Checking out the scenery...

Little lovin on mama!

She loved it!

We then headed over to Hula Hut for lunch! It was YUMMY!!! Perfect fun-filled Friday!;)

Playing at the park

We haven't really been going to the park much here lately, I mean with it being 110 degrees, don't you want to go chase a busy toddler around in the heat?!
Well yesterday morning we strolled on over after breakfast, (at 8am it's only 80;) and couldn't believe it...had the park ALL to ourselves!!! (a little disappointing since Cate LOVES making new friends;)

She thought she was too big to swing, which I figured, so off she went exploring;)

Mama! Do you see this tree?! It's like the ones in our back yard!

She had no fear of climbing...

Which I also figured...

And she had the most fun pointing and chasing after the birds and squirrels;)

She looks WAY too much like a big girl in these pics...;( tear;(

Hopefully, sooner than later, Fall will knock on our doorsteps and we can spend A LOT more time there!

"Ahhhh" means "Yes, please!?"

What do you think?!

YouTube Video

So for the past couple of weeks, we've noticed that Cate is answering us with this "Ahhhhhh" sound when we ask her pretty much any question pertaining to what she would like to do.
Examples:
As you saw in the video,
"Cate, would you like to go take a bath?"
Cate - "Ahhhh!"

"Cate, would you like to go outside?"
Cate - "Ahhhh!"

"Cate, would you like to go bye bye?"
Cate - "Ahhhh!"

"Cate, would you like to eat?"
Cate - signs eat and says "Ahhhh!"

"Cate, would you like to go for a wagon ride/or ride your trike?"
Cate - "Ahhhh!"

"Cate, would you like to go lay down/take a nap?"
Cate - "Ahhhh!"

So as you can imagine, it's pretty comical. Definitely seems to be her response, meaning "yes, please mama and dada!" to what we ask her. Pretty amazing!!;)

Some firsts for all!

Matt and I had our first weekend away sans Cate this past weekend, while spent her first weekend with grandparents! Mama and Daddy went to the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch resort and had a wonderful, RELAXING time!

(we didn't take any pics really while we were there, so thanks to trip advisor, I found a few;)
We arrived there Friday afternoon, checked in, and checked the place out!

We spent a lot of time here...

And enjoyed happy hour with "a few" of these...

We had NO plans, NO schedule, and NO worries!!;)
It would have been nice to relax in one of these...

but let's face it, when it's 105 out, it feels much better with your toes in the water!;)
The resort is gorgeous! Definitely some beautiful scenery...

The rooms there are 1, 2, or 3 bedroom condos with full kitchens, so you can definitely vacation here for a while;)

A home away from home!
We had a great time...

But definitely missed this sweet girl...

And I don't think she realized we were gone until we came back! Gigi, Pops and Auntie Ash kept her VERY busy and entertained/spoiled....
They went out to eat

Relaxed

And went shopping

How could she not have fun?!?
When we got home and she saw us, her mouth opened, she had huge smiles, and was gasping with excitement!! It was SO cute and she was SO happy! We all survived and just like everyone says, I don't think Cate even knew we were gone until we were back! And it was probably harder on us than on her!;) Obviously it was!

Mean 'ol molars

I don't really have much this week. Someone is getting their molars, top AND bottom, so that kind of explains my week thus far. She's been getting up super early, like 5 or 6, and since her teeth are bothering her she can't go back to sleep, so by 6 I usually go get her. Then it's a full day of keeping her busy, going for an early morning walk (which actually feels cool, with a breeze at 7:30 am) cuddling, loving, playing and trying to make her as happy and as distracted as possible. Thankfully she really isn't fussy while teething, it's just one minute she's happy and laughing, and the next minute she falls down or something and she gets upset and cranky. The key is keeping her super distracted and entertained, which = one. tired. mama! However, we are very very thankful that teething thus far hasn't interrupted her sleep during her naps or during the night! (aaaaannnndd hopefully I didn't just jinx it!) I just hope those mean molars push thru quick. I can feel the top ones have pushed thru the gum, and the bottom ones still are just bumps. It's just so sad and you feel so helpless when your baby is miserable and you can't do much for her=(
To our delight, my Dad came to see us Tuesday, so that was fun and mama got to go get a "deluck" pedi!=) while Cate got to have some good laughs with her Pops!
