Cate's first trip to the ZOO!

For my first Mother's Day, I just wanted a fun day with my 'lil family, so that's just what we did. We took Cate down to the Austin Zoo, and she/we had a great time!!

It was a perfect outing, we hope to take her to the San Antonio zoo soon...(but we may wait until the fall and it's cooler, it's not even summer and it was 95+ degrees!) It's AWESOME if you haven't been=)

Mother's Day weekend

Mothers day weekend was wonderful! It started off Friday, this mama went and "got my highlights back" (as my sister says, love it), a much needed haircut, AND a deep conditioning treatment! YES! I'm set for a while;)
Saturday Jojo and Grandpa Royce came up and we had lunch at the Oasis.





Cate and I took a nap while everyone else ran errands;), then my parents and sister came up to join us for, you guessed it, some fried fish!

Then Sunday morning I made delish blueberry pancakes, (the usual for a Sunday, we were going to brunch at Chez Zee, still on my to do, but some sweet girl decided to start a new nap schedule over the weekend, and we knew it would be crazy busy, so we will try thus wkn,) then received this perfect card from Matt...

I wanted to have a fun family day for my first mother's day, and wanted to take Cate to the zoo! So that's what we did! It was so fun! Post on that to come soon;)

The other night we had our friends Jonah, Catherine and Wyatt over and fried some fish. It was DElish and SO fun to watch the kids play! Hopefully Wyatt will teach Cate some of his 20 words soon;)

So cute! Come this August there will be one more tot trotting around when Wyatt's lil Sis makes her debut! So exciting!!

And actually, I gave her a few bites of cheese and she loved it!!! It's so fun letting her try new things!
Then we had some Yum-O luncho!


She wasn't quite as interested in this...but she did eat some cheese;)

Mmmmm...

Apple fritter bread! Yum! Someone has been a little off on her eating. Still nurses like a champ four/five times a day and gets one of those in cold in a sippy cup! But as for eating other foods, eh. The pedi said at the last visit that she could eat whatever we eat as long as it's healthy, soft, and not bigger than a thumbnail! Dr. T said it may take a while for Cate to adjust to different food/textures, but wasn't concerned that she wasn't getting what she needs;) So, we are slowly working on the transition. She will eat her cereal and other baby foods just fine, other/most time she just wants puffs, mum mums, and yogurt bites. If all foods were in yogurt bite form we would be good! I think too we are about to be in the phase where she wants to feed herself, and not be fed by us with a spoon.
Any of you mamas have things that worked well for you during the transition?!?;)

Update on baby birds!

As of Sunday, there was one lil one left in the nest. Monday they were all out and we didn't see any around out front. Last night we saw the mama bird out back with a lil dinner in her mouth, and heard a little one chirping...then saw mama fly to baby up in a tree and feed it dinner! ( I know, some of you think I probably need a lil more excitement in my life;)
Such a sweet and happy moment! Seems the babies are doing well!
